Scarborough RibFest 2006
When something involves food, the whole crew gets in on the action. Of all the years I lived in Scarborough, I never realized they had a ribfest. Now that I'm in North York, we decided to hit the old stomping grounds to check out the ribs. We weren't disappointed.

A couple weeks back we checked out the Kultura Filipino Arts Festival that took place at the Kapisanan Philippine Arts Centre in Kensington Market. The afternoon was filled with music, visual arts, vendors andfilms from a variety of talented filipinos. It was great to see all the artistic endeavours in this niche community, bring us back to our roots.

It's official, SlapDash is now available on iTunes. So why don't you go over there and subscribe!
Needless to say this is exciting news for us. We just need to fan the flames and get some more content online. There are 3 episodes in the works as we speak, and one brewing in my head. Along with a slew of half episodes that may never see the light of day.
Let me throw some background history about this podcast while I have your attention. Being a blogger for almost 6 years now; I've watched the blogging community grow, I've seen the photoblogging world explode and I've witnessed podcasts and video podcasts flourish. We collectively figured it was time jump on board especially since Michelle needed a creative outlet to brush up on her video editting skills and since Jay liked the idea of being in front of the camera to do throws. This was the perfect opportunity. So the three of us brainstormed one evening many moons ago and finally came up with the name SlapDash.
By definition, it was perfect, we were three creative souls looking for an outlet, without a clue as to what we are doing. Hasty and careless, but don't get us wrong, we are a passionate crew and I think if you stick around you may witness some really interesting footage.
So here is what you can expect from SlapDash.
- Episodes which vary from 5 to 10 minutes in length.
- Each episode is a single stand alone segment, covering one topic.
- We are not on a schedule, so it may be days between episodes, sometimes weeks.
- Host? that would be all of us. In any given episode you may catch any or all of us in front or behind the camera.
- In some cases, thing are lined up, in other cases we will be creating a cast on the fly because we think it would be interesting coverage, expect the unexpected.
- Our scripts are non existent and unrehearsed, so do not expect us to put on our news anchor voices.
- Often things are taped on the fly. We are using a Sony video camera as our main source of video. As backups, Michelle and Jason both have a point and shoot digital camera with video capture capabilities, a Sony and Nikon respectively. And if all else fails, or opportunities arise, Jay and I are armed with Nokia cellphones which also have video capture.
Yes, if all sounds very random, that's because it is. So keep your eyes open, cause we'll definitely have another episode online before the week is up. But in the meantime, open up your iTunes app and subscribe. If anything it will be good for a laugh.
